Three Key Features Revealed in Latest iPhone SE 4 Case Leak

Apple leaker Sonny Dickson has posted an apparent image of a case designed for the upcoming iPhone SE 4, which is expected to launch next spring. Although the images don’t showcase any groundbreaking new details, they do highlight some things that we should expect with the iPhone SE.

Single rear camera

Although the iPhone SE 4 is expected to be based on the iPhone 14 design, it does not have the same dual camera setup as the iPhone 14. This means there’ll be no ultra wide camera, although the iPhone SE is still expected to have a 48MP main sensor, the same one as the iPhone 15.

So, even though you won’t have two physical rear camera sensors, you will still have two focal lengths, 1x (which uses the 48MP sensor and bins down to 12MP), and 2x, which zooms in on the middle 12MP of the 48MP sensor, which Apple describes as providing optical quality.

Physical mute switch

Although earlier iPhone SE rumors suggested that the device would have an Action Button, more recent leaks (as well as this case leak) don’t seem to suggest so. There’s still a cutout for the mute switch in the upper left, rather than another button, like cases for the iPhone 15 Pro and later.

No camera control button

No leaks suggested that Apple’s cheapest iPhone would have the new Camera Control slider/button introduced on the iPhone 16 lineup, and these cases suggest that as well. There’s no opening in the lower right side of the case, nor is there any cutout for a potential conductive crystal button like Apple’s cases.

Wrap up

Apple is expected to debut iPhone SE 4 next spring, for around $500. The upcoming iPhone will likely have a new 6.1-inch OLED display, USB-C, a new 48MP camera, Face ID, and more.
